Arianna Huffington

Arianna Stassinopoulos Huffington (Greek American) is a Greek American writer, syndicated-columnist and businesswoman. She co-founded The Huffington Post, is the founder and CEO of Thrive Global as well an writer of 15 novels. Arianna Huffington has worked as a journalist, TV personality, philanthropist and author for over ten years. She is also the proprietor of The Huffington Post, an independent, liberal online newsmagazine. Her birthplace was Greece she relocated to England when she was 16 and completed her studies at Cambridge University with an MA in Economics. The infamous debating society The Cambridge Union was her first president and she took it at the age of 21. After her graduation, she became a prominent conservative syndicated journalist. A few more years later she created The Huffington Post which featured critical commentary on the current political landscape. Her popularity allowed her to persuade a number of celebrities to contribute their opinion regarding current affairs, the political and culture. Arianna became famous in 2003 after she decided to run for a non-partisan position in the California recall election in order to succeed then Governor Davis. Additionally she also led the Detroit Project for fuel-efficient cars. Forbes named her as 12th on its list for the Most Popular Media Women. Guardian also included the Huffington Post on their list of the top 100 in the year 2010. AOL Inc. named her president of their media group in 2011 after they purchased The Huffington Post. The Huffington Post also included the other AOL brands, including Engadget AOLmusic Style list and Patch Media. Elli has two siblings, Konstantinos Stasinopoulos and Elli, who are both journalists and consultants in management. Although she had a close relationship to her father, her connection to her mom shaped the rest of her life. Through her early years, she exhibited abilities to lead, and for this are still prominently known. Her move to England came at sixteen to further her studies and was enrolled into Girton College Cambridge. In the time of her studies she was a member of the Cambridge Union debating group where she was elected the first female president and sole foreign president.
