Fawn Mckay

Fawn Brodie McKay, born September 15, 1915 was a native of Ogden Utah. Fawn MacKay, who was a member of the Mormon Church's founding family, applied her brilliant writing skills as well as her impressive abilities to research in order to produce the psycho-historical biographies about Joseph Smith. The book,"No Man has a clue about My History was published in 1945. That title was taken from a funeral sermon given by the founder of the Church of Latter-Day Saints in 1844 when he startled the congregation with his words"You don't even know me." and you've never known my heart. My history is unknown to anybody. It's impossible for me to reveal it. Fawn (29 an age) wrote that she has been honest since the moment she made her statement the three hundred and thirty writers have stood up to the event. Some have attempted to establish a medical diagnosis. Documents are not lacking, but they are contradictory. The task of assembling the papers -and separate the firsthand stories from plagiarism by third parties, and finally, to put Mormon as well as non Mormon narratives together into a reliable mosaic isn't an easy task. It's both thrilling, and also instructive. This is the kind of task to which Fawn Brodie devoted herself professionally. Her work in research and writing made her famous all over the world: Thaddeus Stephens. The Scourge of the South (1959) The Devil Drives. Thomas Jefferson. Richard Nixon and An Intimate Historical History (1974).
